Libra rising tends to temper and even out where your Venus lies in your chart, along with the rest of your signs. I know on a personal level, I have a problem with recognizing in myself when I cause problems in my relationships, but when I do, I make sure to negotiate with my partner to come to an agreement.

The Ascendant (or rising sign) is often considered the mask one wears when meeting others. Perhaps it is most aptly thought of as the automatic responses to one's environment. The Ascendant shows our natural defenses and how we cope with day-to-day issues. The energies of the sign and condition of the Ascendant are most overt and obvious to others. The Ascendant shows an individual's first, natural reaction to new people and situations.

The characteristics of Libra Ascendant described above are modified by planets conjunct the Ascendant, planets that aspect the Ascendant, and the position of the ruling planet of the sign on the Ascendant. For example, a person with a Libra Ascendant with its ruling planet, Venus, in Sagittarius will respond to the environment a little differently than another person, also with a Libra Ascendant, but whose Venus is in Scorpio. Similarly, a person with a Libra Ascendant who also has Saturn conjunct it will "behave" differently than someone with a Libra Ascendant who does not have that aspect in their natal charts.

Male

The Libra Rising wants harmony more than anything. He will let his mate rant and rave while bottling his emotions within. He is in love, always. The Libra rising needs to be in love, and some of his connections may be quite on the 'surface' because he loves beauty and can be tricked by appearances. Over time he will learn (the hard way) that what is perfect on the outside is often lacking within. He may bounce from relationship to relationship thinking 'she's the one'. This woman is something of an enigma. She comes across helpless and in need of rescue one moment, and in the next she is like a drill sergeant. Libra rising is seductive, and like her male counterpart, always in love. Always. She isn't fooled as easily as the male, however. She can see past the perfect pecs into the mind, and she will turn away a man that lacks intelligence. She can be manipulative in her own way--always making herself available to her partner, always willing to follow his lead. Why? Because she's in love with him, and she believes that love is sacrificial and worth getting a little dirty on a camping or fishing trip. She needs romance and all of its trappings. She will let her partner storm about and boss her around, but she won't really listen. She'll let it go in one ear and out the other. If it goes on for too long, she will be happy to look elsewhere for the love she needs. Once in a committed relationship, however, she will often switch roles and become the leader. She is very intelligent and can be quite dominating, although never in a harsh or rude manner. Harmony is just as important to her as it is to the Libra rising male. Sexually, she needs plenty of attention and romance, and if she gets it, she will enjoy being the initiator in many nightlong festivities. She, like the Libra male, is very sensitive and giving sexually.
