Naturally with an Aries Asc., the signs are in the natural houses that they rule...
So what do you experience being a Libra Asc. and the sign switched to the opposite house? I always thought out of all Asc., Libra is interesting, just in that regard.
do you think that makes for our rep as 'wishy washy' I don't like the claim, but can understand why it is used. It's hard being able to see every side and view. And Asc. have a double dose it seems of 'seeing it from another view' with the house switch going on.

Re: Libra Asc. and Houses
Thu, February 8, 2007 - 11:42 AMI've often felt the balance it brings is a blessing. As an example, my Sun/Mercury/Mars stellum in Leo is all in the 11th house--which grants me the ability to reach beyond myself, and feel passionate for society as a whole. My college major was, in fact, sociology, a direct representation of my desire to superordinate the group *and* the individual. Yes, I realize that's contradictory--yet it's true, depending on the circumstance. I've been told I'm one of the most complex/contradicting that people know, and it's partially because of views like that. Of course, I can explain it away--that I simply view an ideal state of everyone consciously affirming their individual uniqueness and rights and purposefully choosing to exert them for the good of society. See? It's easy.
I'm also willing to sacrifice my own goals for the good of the group, which is definitely more the Aquarian house and less the Leonine.
Yay for Libra. It's worth noting that not every house will have the sign switched in every Libran Asc; I have Scorpio on the cusp of my 3rd house (effecting transformation through communication and the force of words) and Capricorn on my 4th--and likewise, Taurus on 9th and Cancer on 10th. Thus, the Sag/Gem axis is noticeably lacking.
I think that stellum helps make me less wishy-washy. I can see all sides, but I'm decisive and quick-thinking. Of course, your mileage may vary. I think the greatest compliment ever paid to me was being called "a moral compass", which neatly reflects both my Leo in 11th *and* the Libra of my Pluto/Asc/Moon.
Something else which I just realized is that with Aquarius on my 5th house, I'm often attracted to that coolness in women--but because of my Venus in Cancer, I'm often disappointed at their lack of emotion. It's been very hard to reconcile that throughout my life, as I both want someone independent and unique while simultaneously wanting someone who'll invest themselves fully in our relationship.

Re: Libra Asc. and Houses
Fri, February 9, 2007 - 10:06 AMMy ascendent, moon, pluto and north node all pile up within the first few degrees of Libra. I can always see the other side of any situation, and am keenly aware of the fairness of my own and others' actions. Those who know me will not ever call me wishy-washy. When I make a decision, I invest my whole self into it. That doesn't mean that I never change my mind, sometimes with disastrous results, but that is part of the human experience. I have more fixed signs in my chart than anything, despite all of my planets in Libra, and perhaps that is why I tend to be really strong in my convictions.
Transformation is a big theme in my chart, with pluto conjunct my asc. and moon; and with my sun, venus, and chiron in the eighth house. I have little room to take anything lightly, and while it might take me a while to reach a decision (all that Taurean influence), I will rarely change my mind. Unless somebody ends up being treated unfairly, in which case I am usually the first to point it out.
Another thing that occurs to me when I consider the effect of having all of my signs in their opposite houses is that I adore Aquarius people, even though I am a Taurus with no Aquarius in my chart at all, at all. I do, however, have my mars and saturn in Leo, in the eleventh house, of course, of course. All that I can figure is that with all of the air in my chart, and with all of that energy in the eleventh house, I identify deeply with Aquarians. Some of my friends even tell me that they think of me as being more of an Aquarius than anything else, from the way that I think, to my love of humanity, even to the way that I dress.

Re: Libra Asc. and Houses
Sun, February 11, 2007 - 7:16 AMI think that Librans are gifted in this ability to see other sides because IMHO all perspectives are truth depending on where you stand. The ability to see from another angle gives one a more rounded ability to see the issue as it truly may be instead of being stuck in a single viewpoint. Isn't the point of it all to achieve harmony? Aren't we all brothers and sisters sharing the same experiences and lessons? Communication is the ultimate method towards gaining understanding and Libras have an intrinsic ability to reach inside an issue and pull out slightly different experiences from those around them which helps them understand how to help those around them.

Dina

Re: Libra Asc. and Houses
Sun, March 18, 2007 - 8:28 AMWishy-washy? :( I resemble that remark. Only because my sun is Pisces in the 6th house. But my moon is in Virgo. Actually, I do have problems making decisions, but once I make them, I almost always stick to them. Choosing a career has been an adventure because sometimes I doubt myself. But after I heal some more, I get stronger in the decisions that I know are right for me, even though others may not see it. That is their limited vision problem, not mine. I just have to go with what I know is my best path.
For all the other little decisions I have trouble making, I keep a pendant necklace around my neck at all times that I use as a pendulum. It REALLY helps me. phew.
Blessings,
Mama Gaea
